Coco peat also known as coir pith, coir fibre pith, coir dust, or simply coir is a natural by product extracted from coconut husks during the coir fibre manufacturing process. It is the spongy, brown material that surrounds the longer coir fibres within the coconut shell. Today it is recognised as one of the world's most environmentally friendly and sustainable growing media used in modern horticulture and agriculture.
The raw coir waste generated by coir fibre industries is carefully washed, heat-treated, screened, and graded before being processed into different coco peat products with varying granularity and density making them suitable for horticultural, agricultural, hydroponic, landscaping, and industrial absorbent applications worldwide.
